The One With American Idol
Current Mood: Bored

You know, I managed to let five years fly by without ever feeling the need to be consumed by that which is, I feel, solely responsible for the downfall of our civilization.
Fine, maybe I am overstating my case a bit, but you get the drift, right? Anyway, this season I am thoroughly enjoying myself with the audition process. Have you ever sat and found yourself critiquing right along with Simon Cowell? Um....'Cuz I do! I would do just about ANYTHING to be a guest judge on this show. I may not like the premise of the show, but I do love to see how many amazing singers there are in our great country! Some of these kids impress me in new ways each week.
Of course, the good kids are not even HALF as much fun as the bad. I love hearing them tell the judges, "But my friends always tell me how good I am."
Honey, FIND SOME NEW FRIENDS! But even with the fun of watching numerous morons humiliate themselves on national television, there is still more - it's not even the best part?
Do you know what the best part is? This best part is that in the audition room...
They
lock
one
of
the
doors.
See.....the judges always seem to find themselves in a room with double doors and for reasons unknown to the rest of the world, the left door is ALWAYS locked. In fact, you would think these moronic "singers" could figure that out, but nope. I thin I've heard Simon say, "Other door," more than I have heard Randy say, "It's a little pitchy." Anyway, thankfully, I have the answer to the burning closed door question. They lock the door for comedic effect. Let me show you what I mean.
Simon: "I'm sorry, Love. It's a no."
Girl: "Please, I've worked harder than ANYONE else. I've worked harder than I ever thought I could! What can I do to be better?"
Simon: "It's just not quite right."
Girl: Gathers her strength, lifts her head and says, "I think you are going to regret this." Then she slowly turns toward the exit, and calmly walks to the doors.
And it won't open. After a few tries, she manages to open the correct door and leave, but it's too late. Her triumphant egress is ruined and she must walk out with her head hanging. SO sad.
Actually, the best ones are those who win. One guy screamed, jumped up, and raced away from the judges. Then *BAM!*
Hee hee hee. I love it. Anyway, just thought I'd share. Now I must go finish a project for tomorrow. Adios!
