The One after the Intercontinental

Oh my goodness, I am TIRED!!! This week was a complete blast. I have never before spent a week in a hotel room this nice!!!! I am about to fall asleep, so I am probably not going to write much, but I wanted to give you a little taste. Let's start with the pictures, shall we?

This is me and Suzy the first morning of the convention........don't we look happy? That's because we are. We are in the penthouse. ;-)

Yeah, so this sign was on the door to the pool. You KNOW it's there because somebody walked into that door.

An Ode to all my faithful readers out there! I told the most prominent doctors in Texas that my name is Jim Hawkins!

And this is casino night! It was so much fun! I lost $2000 in fake money. Woo hoo!!! The lady with the short hair is Janet. She took most of it.

And now, for the crowning glory of the week! I would like you to meet Larney. He is Diana and Suzy's uncle and hysterical! This is his Donald Duck impression.

Well, well, well....I have a million tiny little things to write on here, but I always think, "No, wait until you have a post they will fit into."

Phooey. Forget that, I think I will just ramble on until I cover everything of get bored.

So, I am calling this post "The One I Stole from Seth" because his LiveJournal provided much of the material for today's post. Let's start with the pictures of Halli. I HAD to put them on here because she is ADORABLE! I seriously miss that silly little bundle of energy. I used to walk up to the front door and there would be these two little black eyes and a nose bouncing behind the window almost at eye level. That dog can JUMP! Anyway, here is Halli with her new haircut.

Hahahahaha. Isn't she cute??????? *sigh*

Okay, that's it. Wasn't it fun? You should take it!

I don't know why.

So, I am kinda going through Joseph withdrawal. I don't know when I will be involved in a producation again and that makes me a little sad. I wish there were some opportunities at Baylor to take advantage of...alas, there are not. Lots of opera scenes, though. yippee. Anyway, I just keep telling myself that tour is only SEVEN DAYS AWAY!!!! WOO HOOO!!!! I finished the tour blog tonight, and that puts me in a better mood. If you get bored, you should check it out at http://chapelincanada.blogspot.com when you get a chance. I am excited about filling it with posts and audio posts and video posts. We're coming, Canadian Emily!!! :-) Mildly frustrated that I still have no idea what our itenerary is...or even when we are leaving. Flight number? Nope. And I still don't have a job. In fact today, I am a little upset with my church.

Ah, and now I have forgotten the other little things to write about. And I am a ittle bit sleepy, so I am going to take advantage of that and FINALLY go to sleep. My sleep schedule has been all thrown off since Joseph ended. Gonna have to get over that so I can drive to Waco tomorrow. Joy. Goodnight!

The One With Joseph Part 2

Well, HOWDY! So let me just say...

These kids are AWESOME!!!! I have been rehearsing with the cast of Joseph for a little over a week and these high-schoolers continue to impress me. To begin with, they have all but mastered this massive musical (which is 100% music, in case you haven't seen it, plus 50% dancing, 30% costume changes, and more character shifts than could be counted. Yes, I am aware that that is 180%. My name is Willy Wonka.) in only one month. In addition, they are spectacular! At one point during the same song with all of the brothers each night, poor Reagan has had to stop because I crack up right in front of him. Both of the directors have said repeatedly that this is the best show of Joseph they've ever seen, and I must agree. If you can come, COME!!!

Today, we moved all of the sets from the warehouse to the theater at SMU. Much fun. Actually, notsomuch. Well....it WOULD have been fun if I got to move any sets. Unfortunately, I got called away to do a garage sale pickup....there went my day. Anyway, getting late. Much to say, but losing motivation. :-) Goodnight, everyone!

P.S Always loved it. The cats crack me up. Expecially the white long haired one in the water.

P.P.S. ALL HAIL THE COVER!

Where the Streets Have No Name. Um......U2, BABY! Covered exceptionally well by Chris Tomlin. In case you were unaware, I am a cover FREAK! That does not mean that I like all covers (The Duffs, Our Lips are Sealed, anyone??), but I give them all a fair listen. Anyway, Chris covered this song for the Artists United for Africa CD and it's great! Have a listen!

Kyrie Eleison...originally by Mr. Mister, not such a great group, but a spectacular song and I have to admit that I like Mark Schultz's version even better! Enjoy!

And finally, an Ode to Peter Gabriel...no matter how many versions of this song I find, I love every single one (including the STELLAR cut on A Little More Runway!!)! Although I am not normally a Nichole Nordeman fan, she outdid herself with this one. It still retains the etheral feel of the original, but it has a warmer sound to it that I love. Have a listen! Enjoy!
