The One With Joseph Part 2
Well, HOWDY! So let me just say...
These kids are AWESOME!!!! I have been rehearsing with the cast of Joseph for a little over a week and these high-schoolers continue to impress me. To begin with, they have all but mastered this massive musical (which is 100% music, in case you haven't seen it, plus 50% dancing, 30% costume changes, and more character shifts than could be counted. Yes, I am aware that that is 180%. My name is Willy Wonka.) in only one month. In addition, they are spectacular! At one point during the same song with all of the brothers each night, poor Reagan has had to stop because I crack up right in front of him. Both of the directors have said repeatedly that this is the best show of Joseph they've ever seen, and I must agree. If you can come, COME!!!
Today, we moved all of the sets from the warehouse to the theater at SMU. Much fun. Actually, notsomuch. Well....it WOULD have been fun if I got to move any sets. Unfortunately, I got called away to do a garage sale pickup....there went my day. Anyway, getting late. Much to say, but losing motivation. :-) Goodnight, everyone!
P.S Always loved it. The cats crack me up. Expecially the white long haired one in the water.
P.P.S. ALL HAIL THE COVER!
Where the Streets Have No Name. Um......U2, BABY! Covered exceptionally well by Chris Tomlin. In case you were unaware, I am a cover FREAK! That does not mean that I like all covers (The Duffs, Our Lips are Sealed, anyone??), but I give them all a fair listen. Anyway, Chris covered this song for the Artists United for Africa CD and it's great! Have a listen!
Kyrie Eleison...originally by Mr. Mister, not such a great group, but a spectacular song and I have to admit that I like Mark Schultz's version even better! Enjoy!
And finally, an Ode to Peter Gabriel...no matter how many versions of this song I find, I love every single one (including the STELLAR cut on A Little More Runway!!)! Although I am not normally a Nichole Nordeman fan, she outdid herself with this one. It still retains the etheral feel of the original, but it has a warmer sound to it that I love. Have a listen! Enjoy!

That's a funny commercial...
And that's funny how you like cover songs. Sometimes I do, but when it comes to secular music being made into a "Christian" version, I hate it. That may have something to do with me being very anti-KLTY, and I HATE that they play "Lean on Me" and "Kyrie Eleison". (I hate MWS's version) I just think, "Leave the secular music in the secular arena and make up Christian catchy songs! Geez!"
Speaking of songs...you know...

It's sort of creepy how similar our music tastes are!! I love like everything that you have up their. Right now I am totally loving Teddy Gieger.
